So many things happened last year that i would rather forget. And the new year should give me a new hope. but the ghosts of the past (or in plain lingo, consequences/effects) still haunt me (which means, i have to live with it).
anyway, i have to change my diskarte and be more flexible this year. because right now, just second week into the next decade, i am already STRESSED!
A month ago, hunny roney asked me if i want another bag for my birthday. I have been teasing him that the last one he gave me seemed to be lonely being a single entity of its class. For me, it was just a tease; something to throw him out of complacency. I am really not a baglady anyway. So, i gave him a different answer each time.
But then, i began thinking that who knows if he would ever have the opportunity to ask me the same question again, or if i would ever have the luxury to choose. And besides, it’s an investment, right? People nowadays buy pre-owned designer bags. Carpe diem!
And, again, i am not really a baghag. So, it took us an hour last Friday (yep, that’s the real reason why i was fully made up! hahaha!) to finally decide which one to buy. We went from one shop to another, then back again because nothing feels right; nothing seems to fit on me. Then, the sales girl finally saw that we were really intent to buy one because we visited her shop five times already. She suggested this one great bag that I really fell in love with. I actually saw it when we went in, but it’s way beyond hunny roney’s budget so i didn’t bother. However, when he saw how my eyes lit up and the curve of my mouth extended beyond my eyes when i tried it on, he just went on, not minding the set ceiling price.
However, since at current time, it is still not officially my birthday, i have not yet opened my gift. But here’s a picture of the paper bag where my real and beautiful bag lies. I am so excited! Yipee!
Admittedly, one of the concerns that we had in letting Jadon go to his school is the tuition fee. His was much, much more than mine in law school and hubby’s exclusive school in college.
Anyway, after a month in school, Jadon has learned so much, including Chinese language!!! Hence, at almost 3 years old, he knows some words in Filipino, Spanish (thanks to Dora and Diego) and Chinese, and is slightly fluent in English. I know that INTONATION is very important in Chinese language. But then, that will be the role of his teacher. hee hee
Needless to say, we are glad to have enrolled Jadon in his school.
Jadon was playing Little Einstein’s Ocean Orchestra Adventure online wherein a musical instrument would be played and he had to choose the correct apparatus. He has this habit of asking for my answer.
Anyway, a wind instrument was played this time. I took one look at the choices and confidently told him that it was a tuba.
He turned to the monitor, stared at it for a few seconds and said, “Nanay, I don’t know.”
“A tuba, anak. It’s a wind instrument.”
He looked at the computer again, thought for a while, and exasperately gave me the I-don’t-know pitch.
I glanced at the choices. Mustering all my patience, I explained, “Anak, a tuba is like a french horn.”
“Oh, a french horn.” He then smiled and clicked the wind instrument.
Then the Little Einstein voice-over said, “You are correct. It is a french horn.”
While cleaning Jadon last night, we were discussing how he spent the day. I asked the usual questions on what he saw in the mall and how he liked the fountain.
Suddenly, he put his hand on top of my hand and said,
“Thank you wold…”
“What?” I asked. I was baffled, trying to find a connection between the mall and his words.
He looked at me in the eye with a smile and began again,
“Thank you Wold…”
“Ha?” I was getting impatient this time. We’re always encouraging him to express himself clearly so that everyone could understand him.
My almost-3-year-old son would soon be going to school this coming semester. How time flies so fast!
Like the rest of the moms who want the best for their child, I am over-excited about him joining the “big league”. I was scouting, searching, and buying the books that are needed to prepare him for school. Of course, I won’t pressure him to literally READ the book, but one can hope, right? haha
And I also have to shop for his clothes, which is not easy. He is a boy and I really have not much to choose from. Good thing I have learned something from this so I know the “priority clothes”. hehe. And yes, i may have the tendencies to splurge for my one and only kid.
Some of his school items can be purchased from the faculty room, which makes my tasks easier. For the rest, I need to see my checklist from time to time.
Now, all I need is a chinese name in Mandarin characters. Any suggestion please?
Hubby does not like crab because it is so tedious to eat one. So, I filleted them, sauteed and put some carrots and seasoned with salt, pepper and vinegar. Then I stuffed it in, put mozzarella cheese and baked for 3-5 minutes.
Voila! I had dinner ready for hubby who asked for seconds.
