New Language

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Uncategorized

Admittedly, one of the concerns that we had in letting Jadon go to his school is the tuition fee. His was much, much more than mine in law school and hubby’s exclusive school in college.

Anyway, after a month in school, Jadon has learned so much, including Chinese language!!! Hence, at almost 3 years old, he knows some words in Filipino, Spanish (thanks to Dora and Diego) and Chinese, and is slightly fluent in English. I know that INTONATION is very important in Chinese language. But then, that will be the role of his teacher. hee hee

Needless to say, we are glad to have enrolled Jadon in his school.

Nanay’s Name

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Uncategorized

A conversation between me and the little boy one evening:

Nanay (pointing at Roney): That is ……….

Jadon:  Tatay!

Nanay: And his name is…..

Jadon: Wonad!

Nanay (very proud of her little boy): Very Good!

Nanay (pointing at self): I am…..

Jadon: Nanay!

Nanay: And my name is….

Jadon: NOT Wonad!

hay, oo nga naman ;p

The Wind Instrument

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Uncategorized

Jadon was playing Little Einstein’s Ocean Orchestra Adventure online wherein a musical instrument would be played and he had to choose the correct apparatus. He has this habit of asking for my answer.

Anyway, a wind instrument was played this time. I took one look at the choices and confidently told him that it was a tuba.

He turned to the monitor, stared at it for a few seconds and said, “Nanay, I don’t know.”

“A tuba, anak. It’s a wind instrument.”

He looked at the computer again, thought for a while, and exasperately gave me the I-don’t-know pitch.

I glanced at the choices. Mustering all my patience, I explained, “Anak, a tuba is like a french horn.”

“Oh, a french horn.” He then smiled and clicked the wind instrument.

Then the Little Einstein voice-over said, “You are correct. It is a french horn.”

 kahiya talaga si Nanay

Laying of Hand

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Uncategorized

While cleaning Jadon last night, we were discussing how he spent the day. I asked the usual questions on what he saw in the mall and how he liked the fountain.

Suddenly, he put his hand on top of my hand and said,

“Thank you wold…”

“What?” I  asked. I was baffled, trying to find a connection between the mall and his words.

He looked at me in the eye with a smile and began again,

“Thank you Wold…”

“Ha?” I was getting impatient this time. We’re always encouraging him to express himself clearly so that everyone could understand him.

But he looked lovingly at me and continued,

“For Nanay. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

I was humbled.

Getting Ready

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Uncategorized

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT.

My almost-3-year-old son would soon be going to school this coming semester. How time flies so fast!

Like the rest of the moms who want the best for their child, I am over-excited about him joining the “big league”.  I was scouting, searching, and buying the books that are needed to prepare him for school. Of course, I won’t pressure him to literally READ the book, but one can hope, right? haha

And I also have to shop for his clothes, which is not easy. He is a boy and I really have not much to choose from. Good thing I have learned something from this so I know the “priority clothes”. hehe. And yes, i may have the tendencies to splurge for my one and only kid.

Some of his school items can be purchased from the faculty room, which makes my tasks easier. For the rest, I need to see my checklist from time to time.

Now, all I need is a chinese name in Mandarin characters. Any suggestion please?

LP: Bag

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Bed Room

WS: Stuffed Crab

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Dining Room

Hubby does not like crab because it is so tedious to eat one. So, I filleted them, sauteed and put some carrots and seasoned with salt, pepper and vinegar. Then I stuffed it in, put mozzarella cheese and baked for 3-5 minutes.

Voila! I had dinner ready for hubby who asked for seconds.

Mentos Commercial in Action

Posted by: Dyes  /  Category: Uncategorized

Last Saturday, after visiting our friend in this hospital to welcome the newest addition to her family, we went to the parking lot obviously to leave the premises of the hospital. We were aghast to see that there was a car blocking off our way.

Our vehicle was horizontally parked at the end of the lot while the other car was parked vertically totally obstructing us from getting away. The driver not only failed to leave any of his contact number, he also put on the hand brake.

Even after thirty minutes of constant paging, the driver did not show up. Crashing the car and leaving it behind was very tempting. Good thing that the situation was an opportunity to practice patience.

Anyway, thank God that there were good macho souls who did the Mentos commercial. They carried the car to let us pass through, and carried it back.

I have to blog about it so I won’t be able to forget the incident ^_^
